Following up on our recent exchange of letters about the monarchy, my friend Jamie C. Weir and I had a little chat to hash out our disagreements. Jamie mentioned that perhaps we should have set out our ideological stalls prior to the chat, so I’ll just say here that Jamie is the Burke to my Paine—I think that conveys the essential difference in our outlooks!
Jamie is an evolutionary biologist by profession, with side interests in history (particularly military and constitutional history), philosophy, and politics. His hobbies include reading dusty scientific literature, bemoaning the decline of the West, and hating modern architecture.
